FeedFilter Features — What the Social Media Content Filter Does
Supported Platforms
FeedFilter works on the three social networks where low-quality and AI-generated content is most prevalent:
- LinkedIn — Filter AI-bait "thought leader" posts, engagement farming, and inspirational fluff from your feed.
- X / Twitter — Remove bot-generated replies, engagement-bait threads, and repeated low-effort content.
- Reddit — Filter AI-generated comments, repost bots, and keyword-matched content in subreddits.
Filtering Modes
Choose how FeedFilter handles flagged content:
Built-in Filter Categories
FeedFilter ships with smart filter groups that detect common patterns:
- AI phrases — Detects generic AI-generated language patterns common in low-effort posts.
- Engagement bait — Flags posts designed to farm reactions rather than contribute value.
- Listicle structure — Identifies formulaic list-style posts that add little insight.
- Repetitive patterns — Catches rephrased reposts and content clones.
Custom Keywords
Add your own keywords or phrases to filter. Any post containing them will be hidden or highlighted based on your mode setting. Examples of keywords users commonly block:
- "game changer"
- "thought leader"
- "open to work"
- "I'm humbled to announce"
- "unpopular opinion"
Sensitivity Control & Badges
Adjust how aggressively FeedFilter flags content with a simple sensitivity slider — from light filtering to aggressive detection. When badges are enabled, a small placeholder appears where hidden content was removed, so you always know filtering is active.
Privacy & Data
FeedFilter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All settings and preferences are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. The extension never connects to a remote server. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking — ever.
